Potential for additional fuel storage at Marsden Point

25/03/2026 09:15 NZDT, GENERAL

Channel Infrastructure NZ Limited (NZX:CHI, ASX:CHI), New Zealand’s largest fuel import terminal business, notes recent media commentary regarding additional fuel storage at the Company’s Marsden Point site.

Channel has almost 300 million litres of fuel storage currently in service, and an additional 350 million litres of tank capacity that could be converted and brought into service to provide additional fuel storage for New Zealand.

Channel confirms that it has identified some very preliminary options for significantly increasing diesel storage capacity on an accelerated timeframe at Marsden Point, as part of Channel’s commitment to supporting New Zealand’s fuel security. Channel does not intend to make any further comment on discussions with its customers.

Import terminal operations at Marsden Point continue as normal despite the disruptions to the global fuel supply chain caused by the current Middle East conflict.
