Changes to Genesis Executive Structure
Genesis Energy is returning to separate executive leadership for its retail and wholesale functions to meet new regulatory obligations and support delivery of its strategy.
Chief Executive Malcolm Johns today announced that new the structure will include a Chief Customer Officer, responsible for retail, and a Chief Commercial Officer, responsible for wholesale. As a result, the Chief Revenue Officer role will be disestablished.
Stephen England-Hall, the current Chief Revenue Officer, has decided he will leave in the coming months to pursue leadership opportunities outside of Genesis. Stephen will support the transition to the new structure during this time.
Johns said non-discrimination obligations introduced earlier this year create practical challenges for interaction between the wholesale and retail business units. The new structure is better suited to operating under those obligations.
“Since joining Genesis in July 2023, as Chief Customer Officer, Stephen has made a significant contribution during a period of considerable change and transformation,” Johns said. “He has brought strong commercial leadership, helped reshape our customer and commercial strategy, and played an important role in positioning Genesis for future success. On behalf of the Board and Executive Team, I would like to thank Stephen for his contribution and wish him every success for the future.”
England-Hall said it has been a privilege to work alongside talented people across Genesis.
“The introduction of the non-discrimination regulations and the resulting evolution of the Chief Revenue Officer role have provided an appropriate point to consider my next leadership opportunity. I leave with great confidence in Genesis' future and wish the team every success.”
A recruitment process has commenced for both new roles and further announcements will soon be made regarding appointments.
