BIF - Investment in Linca
13/07/2026 11:26 NZST, TRANSACT
Booster NZ is pleased to announce an investment of $300,000 by its Booster Innovation Fund (BIF) in Linca, an early-stage New Zealand company that is developing technology to domestically recover critical minerals from end-of-life lithium-ion.
Linca’s process aims to extract recycled critical minerals, including lithium, nickel and cobalt from the black mass of waste batteries within onshore modular facilities, rather than exporting offshore where value is lost. The solution reduces reliance on mining and smelting to source minerals, enhances metal sovereignty and enables transparent and circular manufacturing capabilities.
Following this transaction (and issue of additional units to fund the purchase), Linca will represent 1.2% of BIF’s investment portfolio which currently has over 35 active companies, and a net asset value of $25.3m. This investment aligns with Booster Innovation Fund’s commitment to supporting innovative New Zealand businesses at the seed of their growth.
Investors can continue to purchase units in BIF on the NZX or can subscribe for units in the fund as part of the process described in the fund’s Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) that is available at www.booster.co.nz
