AIA - November 2025 Monthly traffic update

Key points:

• In November 2025 there was a total of 885k international passenger movements in the month, a 3% increase compared to the same month in 2024. Excluding transits, international passenger movements for the month of November 2025 increased by 4% on the prior year. International seat capacity decreased 1% on the same month last year resulting in average load factors of 86%, a 3.2 percentage point increase;

• Passenger numbers and seat capacity on the short-haul international network increased by 5% and 4% respectively on the prior year with average load factors at 87% a 0.6 percentage point increase. Passenger numbers on the long-haul international routes were the same as last year with 7% fewer seats producing load factors of 85% a 6.0 percentage point increase compared to the same month in the prior year. Capacity changes on the long-haul routes were driven by some airlines commencing seasonal services later than prior year, lower average seat configuration and a route exit;

• Domestic passenger movements decreased by 1% in the month of November 2025 when compared to the same month in the prior year, with seat capacity increasing 1%, resulting in a 1.7 percentage point reduction in load factors to 85%. Passenger numbers on the domestic trunk routes grew 1% compared to the year prior with 4% more seat capacity reducing load factors by 2.3 percentage points to 86%. Regional passenger numbers and capacity both declined by 5%; and

• Queenstown Airport international passenger numbers in November 2025 increased 20% on the year prior and domestic passengers increased 6% on the same month last year.
