Progress update on annual results

The annual results for the Auckland Council Group (group) for the financial year ended 30 June 2025 are being finalised and a results announcement will be released to the NZX in late August 2025. The full annual report for the group will be finalised and released in September 2025.

In the meantime, a quarterly performance report for the group for the three months to 30 June 2025 will be presented to Auckland Council’s elected Governing Body with a preliminary view of performance. The report ensures timely information is provided to the Governing Body to support its decision-making and its oversight of the group’s performance. In previous financial years, the report for the last financial quarter has been presented in a confidential manner as the report also contains some preliminary, unaudited financial results for the full financial year. However, in the interest of enhancing transparency, Auckland Council has decided to provide the report publicly in the same way it does for other quarterly performance reports outside of the year-end process.

The group quarterly performance report shows progress against Auckland Council’s Long-term Plan 2024-2034. Its focus is on underlying delivery against the plan, and it does not provide GAAP-compliant financial results.

The quarterly performance report will shortly be available on the agenda for the Governing Body’s meeting of 31 July 2025, published on Auckland Council’s website in advance of the meeting. The cover report to the quarterly performance report is attached.
